I am very sorry to report that John Williams died late on Thursday evening, John had not been well and he and Andrea had moved to Surrey to be near their daughter.
I had in fact emailed John yesterday sending a photograph of the opening of the outdoor nets. I said that many parents had asked after him, and had expressed their thanks to him for his all his support.
A full tribute to John will be made at a later date.
From today until the end of the season the Bury St Edmunds flag will fly at half mast as a mark of our respect.
